FAQ

How often should I have my oven cleaned?

It depends how regularly you use it and what you cook, but generally it is recommended to have a deep clean every 6 to 12 months to help prevent the build up of carbon, oils and grease.

How long will it take to clean my oven?

A single oven can usually be cleaned in around 2 hours.  A double oven takes about 2.5 to 3 hours and a large range will take around 4 + hours depending on the number of compartments.

Are there any dangerous fumes or smells?

No, I only use non-caustic, fume free, bio-degradable solutions in your home and in my electrically heated tank so the process is totally safe.

How soon can I use my oven after it's been cleaned?

As soon as I have finished cleaning your oven it is ready to use because there is no harmful residue in any of cleaning solutions.  They are all food safe.

Can you replace bulbs and filters?

Yes, if required standard oven bulbs are replaced free of charge when I clean your oven.  Paper extractor filters are also replaced free of charge when I clean your extractor.  I can also source specialist and extractor bulbs as well as mesh filters upon request.

Do you do oven repairs?

Sorry I don't do repairs.  These should only be carried out by a fully qualified engineer.

Are you insured?

Yes I am comprehensively insured for the work I do.  Please ask to see my insurance policy for your peace of mind.

I have a self-cleaning oven, does it still need cleaning?

The self cleaning panels are designed to burn off deposits from cooking, however, the oven needs to be heated to a very high temperature to achieve this.  Even then it is quite likely that there will be carbon, oil and grease deposits on the base and hidden on other parts of the oven for example around the fan and main heating element so yes, I would definitely recommend having this type of oven cleaned as well.

Do you work evenings or weekends?

I have a limited number of evening and weekend appointments available for customers who are unable to be at home during the day.

What does it cost and are there any extra charges?

Wakefield Oven Cleaning has a very simple and transparent pricing policy.  The price list shows the price you will pay; there are no hidden extras and I don't charge more even if your oven clean takes longer than expected.

What method of payment do you accept?

You can pay by either cash, debit/credit card or by bank transfer upon completion of your oven clean

My postcode isn't listed on your areas covered page, can I still get my oven cleaned?
